We’re babysitting my parents dog again. This time for two weeks. She’s pretty good, she just needs LOTS of exercise. We figured out one, non-traditional way to exercise her. We just happened to find out about this yesterday, and recorded a bit today. I won’t do this much because I don’t want her going into the pool after them!

Today’s project is to declutter, clean, and reorganize Nick’s room. I knew this was going to be a more than one day project, so I actually started it after dropping Nick off at camp on Sunday. I worked a couple of hours Sunday, a couple on Monday, and will finish it up today. A nice clean room will go well with his nice clean closet from last week.
Here are the before pictures.

First, I emptied his bookcase and schlepped all of the books downstairs. When I created the scrapbook area, I cleaned out a bunch of scrapbooking supplies from a bookcase in the school room, so I put Nick’s books there. I then put his dresser IN the other side of his nice clean closet. This freed up a lot of floor space. I rearranged his room to give him the maximum amount of play space.
Of course, I had help throughout the whole process. KT helped me clean and sort. And Mowana helped too.

Ok, I’m done. Thanks all who commented that his room didn’t look so bad to begin with. Actually, last week it looked much worse, but I had to scoop up all of his Playmobil pieces and heap them on the table so that I could get to his closet to clean it.
So here are the after pictures….
This corner used to be his dresser and storage for Playmobil. Now his bed is there. The Playmobil stuff is all nicely organized by theme in the drawers. I’d like to get a label maker so putting things away will be much easier. The dresser is in his closet now.

This corner used to be his bed and bookcase. Now it’s a nicely organized play area. The bookshelf will be repurposed to the Pediacast studios.

Several years ago we vacationed at Walt Disney World with my parents. Nick was almost 5 years old. We were shopping at Downtown Disney in a huge mega-store called World of Disney. Literally, the thing goes on and on. It has many different rooms based on what merchandise is in there: the housewares room, the women’s room, the jewelry room, etc. It is very easy to get lost and not be able to meet back up with your family.
At one point, for whatever reason, we decided to split up. My dad took Nick with him. After awhile, they were trying to find the rest of the family so my dad decided to enlist the help of his young grandson.
Here’s how the Nick-ism went down:
Grandpa: Nick can you help me find Grandma?
Nick: Sure
Grandpa: Do you know what she looks like?
Nick: Yeah, she has hair like yours and she’s old.
HA HA HA!
We still don’t know what Nick meant by “hair like yours.” Short hair? Grey hair? We aren’t sure. But whatever he meant, it was pretty funny!

The more people that enter, the less of a chance I have to win! So please don’t enter this contest. Seriously. You don’t want or need this item!
But I guess if you feel you should at least find out what the spoils are, check out what 5 Minutes for Mom is giving away this time! Courtesy of Best Buy, they are giving away a 37″ Flat Panel LCD HDTV.
But don’t enter. The picture probably isn’t clear. It won’t fit in your entertainment center. Besides, too much TV viewing is bad for you. Seriously. Don’t enter!
