KT made this tree on her computer. Isn’t it pretty?
Well, it’s been an interesting morning here.
Santa was called “cheesy” and “lazy” today. Yes, it’s true! See, we use the fabric gift bags to wrap presents for each other. We usually end up opening these on Christmas Eve or earlier. That way on Christmas Day, it’s only Santa presents. This year Santa only got the kids two things each (plus a few goodies in their stockings). And nothing was wrapped. Yes, Santa went “green” this year.
Like good parents, we were too tired to get out of bed at 6:30 am. So Nick pitter-pattered downstairs to check out what Santa brought. He returned quickly to inform us that “Santa is cheesy.” Shortly after that, KT went down to investigate. She’s a bit wiser about the whole “Santa thing” so when she returned and stated, “Santa is lazy,” I knew she was directing that at Mike and me.
Now they are deep in play with their new Playmobil sets and the issue of how Santa wrapped (or didn’t wrap) their gifts isn’t on their minds. But I’m sure at a later date, they will remember.
Ah, that’s what it’s all about. Creating family memories to last a lifetime. Even if it means slamming the guy from the North Pole.
Merry Christmas to all of the Pediacast listeners and Pediascribe readers!

Dawn at Coming to a Nursery Near you tagged me for the 8 Random Things Meme. Basically it means I give you 8 bits of information about myself which confirms in your mind that I am nuts which makes me more endearing to you. So here goes:
1. I seem to get more done when I’m very busy. If I have a limited amount of time, I can tick things off of my list rapidly. If I have all the time in the world, nothing gets done.
2. If something hurts, I always assume the worst (at least to mess with Mike I do) For example, if I have a headache, it’s not just stress, it must be a bursting aneurysm.
3. I hate to dust. Hate it. I should have done a pre-nup that made Mike responsible for all dusting.
4. I like to be 5-10 minutes early when I’m going somewhere. Mike likes to be 5-10 minutes late. This is a source of tension in the house.
5. I tried to learn sign language as a teen. Even took a class at a church that catered to the deaf community. All I remember of it is the animal signs, the bad words the deaf teens taught me, and the motions to the song “It’s a Small World After All.”
6. I think I could be happy living in an apartment. Or even a condo. I hate yard work. I kill most everything in the garden, and I’d rather someone else have to shovel.
7. I am still using 39 cent stamps with the 2 cent make up stamps. I bought $100 worth of stamps and then found out the rate was going up a week later.
8. I have purchased at least 3 of my own Christmas gifts this year.

I’m heading out for the day (a fun day packed with things I want to do), but I thought I’d share this video clip with you of my other drama queen king. Here’s a clip of Nick as Christopher Robin in his recent gig at the Phoenix Theater.
Enjoy!

This week’s theme is “Light.” I found a picture of when we went to the Franklin Park Conservatory and they had a Dale Chihuly exhibit. I just love the way the light shines through the glass.

And just because it’s nearing Christmas, I thought I’d throw in a picture of our tree in our sunroom. It’s the perfect corner for it because all of the lights reflect off of the windows and it’s just beautiful.

Teri, can you see those bags? (grin)
