Rocks in My Dryer is holding a very unique carnival. It’s a
Dog Days of Summer Bloggy Giveway. No, I am not giving away my blog! But I am giving
something away. The idea is this: every blogger who participates gives something away–something new, something you made, something used…whatever. Easy enough, huh? This was perfect timing for me. As my “dirty” story contest was coming to a close, I had in my mind that I needed to come up with another cool idea for a giveaway. I already had an idea of what I was going to give away. Here it is:
This is a cross stitch picture stitched on 32 count linen complete with metallic threads and beads. It was custom framed in this beautiful frame and has spent the last four years tucked in a small cabinet in my bedroom. Why am I giving this away? Because I am incredibly generous, that’s why! Ha! Actually, truth be told, I made this piece over 4 years ago (it’s dated 3/03). I liked the pattern. I needed something to stitch. The fact that it had beads made it fun. But it doesn’t fit with the decorations in my house. That’s why it spent its life tucked away.So that’s what I have to offer. All that’s required is for you to comment on this post beginning now through noon on Friday, July 27th. A comment will be picked through random.org and the winner will be announced the afternoon of July 27th.Only ONE comment per person please. Any duplicate comments by the same person will be deleted. This item open to US and Canadian residents only. Please be sure to check out the
Bloggy Giveaway homepage to see the complete list of bloggers participating in this project.

It’s beautiful! And it makes sense that you would give this away. It’s all about a mother’s love, and “giving” is what mom’s do!

It’s pretty! I used to do cross stitch but haven’t finished anything in, um, 6 years since I finished the sampler I made when Abby was born.

I just have to say it is beautiful but please don’t put me in the raffle. 1) I already have a piece of your handiwork that I adore and 2) We have no more wall space in our house thanks to wonderful cross stitches done by my Mom.

Is this from Told in a Garden? I have a collection of their designs but I am a VERY slow stitcher! I have one (mother holding baby) that is 11×14 size that I have been “working” on for over 5 years! I have had 2 babies since then so I guess that is my excuse.
I love this design, and would love to win it!
Thanks!
Yes, it is a Told in a Garden pattern. Good eye! It was one of her free Christmas angel patterns.

Karen, I saw your comment at Lara’s (lazy organiser) and loved your spirit so I came over to say hi.
I’m not entering your contest. I only entered for things I really really want (blog headers and so forth)
I also hope the person I draw really wants to get organised. It’s always better when the gift goes to someone who really can use it.
Anyway, Hi and nice to meet you!

Karen, that is gorgeous. You wouldn’t happen to remember the pattern. Is it a Mirabilia?
I have so many WIPs that I need to pull out and pick up my needle again.
Add my name to your list. That is a very nice giveaway.
It’s a Lavender and Lace pattern. It was actually a free pattern! You can find it here:
http://www.tiag.com/otherproducts/2002preview.html and download it if you’d like.
