REVIEW–NATURE VALLEY ROASTED NUT CRUNCH BARS

Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Peanut Crunch

I was asked to try out the Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars and give my opinion on them. I received two “flavors” of bars–peanut crunch and almond crunch. The worst part about it is that I cannot choose which one is my favorite!

These are wonderful (and I’m not just saying that because they were free). They taste great and are relatively good for you. The ingredient list is surprisingly short for such tasty snacks. Seriously, each type only includes SIX ingredients! It’s so easy to scan the list to see if there is anything in there that isn’t good for you. There isn’t a single preservative or hard to pronounce chemical. For example, the peanut crunch bars contain the following: Peanuts, sunflower seeds, sugar, corn syrup, salt, almond flour. That’s it!

Things to note on the nutritional panel (Again, this is for the peanut bars. The almond bar nutritional info varies slightly). Each bar contains 190 calories. It is a bit shocking to see 12 grams of fat, but hey, 10 grams of that is monounsaturated–the GOOD stuff! Not a single gram of trans fat! Yeah! They also have NO cholesterol! Each bar contains 2 grams of fiber and 7 grams of sugars, and a whopping 7 grams of protein!!

So here you have a protein packed bar that has a bit of fat (but mostly the good fat), not an incredible amount of sugars, and IT TASTES GOOD!

Decently healthy and it TASTES GOOD! I mean, come on, how often does “healthy” go hand in hand with “tastes good?”

We’re heading out on a long flight on Wednesday and I plan to throw several of these in my carry on in case we need bit of a snack. They taste good and are completely satisfying! I will definitely be buying more of these. I encourage you to give them a try!

They both look really good! I will have to try their almond ones (darn peanut allergy, I still miss them).

I’ve been eating their Sweet & Salty almond ones for months and have been wanting a little variety - I’ll have to give these a try! :)

I’ll have to look around and see if these are available here in Australia as they are the sort of thing hubby likes. They look and sound a lot healthier than the usual types of treats that I get. Mind you I have taken to keeping a large tub of mixed fruits and nuts in the pantry and usually send him off to work with a small tub of them in his lunch bag. All we have to do now really is to find and make the time to walk regularly and maybe that will gives us a kick start to losing those extra Kilo’s.

Have a great holiday Karen. Tell us all about Disney, I think for us that will remain a dream as it is a little too far away for us unless we win the lotto some time.

    Enjoy and Take Care.
    Love Carolynn xx :)

I love these! With such a short ingredients list, I’m pretty darn sure they’re gluten free. Its like I get to eat peanut brittle for breakfast, how cool is that!

Don’t you hate that! I too purchased a box of these at Costco, now they don’t carry it anymore? The Almond crunch is the best yet out of all Nature Valley bars! I’m searching online now for a whole sale center…

I LOOOVE THE ALMOND CRUNCH BARS!! LOVE THEM!!! They are my favorite snack of all time, first time I ate one I had to eat another :) And yes I love the short ingredient list, who wants to eat a snack full of preservatives? Haven’t tried the peanut kind yet but I bet they are just as good as the almond ones.
