SOMEDAY THEY’LL BE COOKING FOR ME!

Posted by Karen on Jan 16 2008

Whew. Another one of those days, but this one was my own fault! We already had a busy day, but I signed the kids up for one extra thing. This one could end up helping me in the long run though, so it’s all good!

See, today I drove into town so the kids could take a cooking class at Whole Foods. Have I mentioned that I love that place? Today’s class was all about measuring and using knives. So here’s a look at our day…..so far…..

Wishing this store was on my side of town instead of the typical 30 minutes away.

Here they are in their cute little aprons.

I shopped around for a bit and then went back to the classroom to take a picture. The door was open, so I went right in. One of the kids (not mine) started shouting, “NO PARENTS ALLOWED!” I took a couple more pictures and lingered for a bit and then left. As I left, the brat boy closed the door behind me……

Think he was telling me something?

A shot through the glass door. HA!

Here they are with one of their creations–chocolate mousse in a chocolate dessert shell with fresh berries on top. Those who know Nick will understand when I tell you…he went back for more berries! A lot more.

They had a GREAT time. Besides the mousse, they also cooked seasoned chicken, “upside down pizzas” with their own custom toppings, granola, guacamole, and layered brownie mix to bring home and bake.

SO totally worth the drive up there! They had a BLAST. I had two hours to browse around Whole Foods. AND I found these for Nick:

Now we’re packing in some school and then we’re off to rehearsal (Nick) and youth group (KT).

I used to shop at the Whole Food Market too, but ours is also a 1/2 hour drive away. I didn’t know they had cooking classes for kids. Looks like they made quite a few treats, more than I cook in a day!
