A RECENT CONVERSATION
Posted by Karen on Feb 11 2008
So the other night, I’m lying in bed checking the hours of the library on my iPhone. Mike was getting ready to listen to his iPod. He put his headphones in and said, “I won’t be able to hear you talking now. These headphones are noise-canceling.”
I said, “Did you just say wife-canceling?”
Mike said, “Noise-canceling, Wife-canceling….They are the same thing.”
This, is the sort of thing I have to put up with!

One more comment that might get me blocked: But as I type I remember that your daughter reads and comments, so I guess I better e-mail you instead.

That’s too funny! I’d have to say that I’m on the same boat as Dr. Mike though. Well, sort of. I always have my iPod headphones(just the regular old ones) plugged in my ears to “tune out” my very noisy sons. Maybe it’s time to upgrade to the son-”cancelling” headphones. Or even the snore-cancelling headphones for those times that I have to listen to my iPod just so I can fall asleep.

My husband says things like that all the time. I think he likes to think he is annoying me.

now that is just not right!! did you smack him?
The other day we were in the car and my husband and I were talking. We were also listening to Veggie Tales “Bob and Larry sing the 70s”. A couple minutes into the drive Joshua said indignantly from the backseat, “I cant HEAR the ‘Locomotion’ with everybody TALKING!”
I’m scared! He’s not quite 4 and he already wants parent-cancelling headphones!!!

I’m pretty sure my husband would like some wife-cancelling headphones. Most of the time, anyway.

Hubs plugs his iPhone into our Bose sound dock that we keep on his nightstand. It charges his phone at night, so he can use it as his alarm clock in the morning. We can also listen to sweet tunes at night. Hehe.
I tend to take my iPhone to bed and play MaJong until I’m too tired to hold my eyes open. I’m a bit obsessed with that game right now…
