I even took a few up to Primary's on our last two trips. The nurses were soooo impressed! Even Parker's surgeon supports cloth diapers and wipes! Yea! We LOVE this man! However, the mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. This is accomplished through many facets, including legislation for birth defects registries (still not available in every state) and newborn screening for birth defects, local grants for the health of pregnant women, distributing information about prevention factors for birth defects and premature birth, and much more. Research in any field of birth defects obviously benefits from state birth defects registries. Even without direct money going to fund heart research at this time, families and babies, both sick and healthy, have been and continue to be helped by the March of Dimes in countless ways. I encourage you to visit the March of Dimes website to find out more, and to volunteer if you have the opportunity. Even the American Heart Association is bad about giving research money to children's heart defects. If you send them money you have to specify a specific fund (which I can remember off the top of my head at this moment) to get your dollars to count. I find this very sad since heart defects are the most common birth defect.
