BLOGGY GIVEAWAY #1–WIPES
Posted by Karen on Apr 20 2008

It’s time again for Bloggy Giveaways!
COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR THIS CONTEST
This time, I’m giving away more than one thing! That’s right, you heard me correctly.
But first….a note about my giveaways. These are only running from right now until Thursday, April 24th at 12:00 noon Ohio time. I leave for vacation early on Friday and I really don’t want to be randomly choosing winners from 30,000 feet in the air! If you win, you will be notified by email (make sure you leave your correct address), but your prize will not ship until after I get back home! If you have a problem waiting a couple of weeks, please do not enter. Also, read carefully who each specific contest is open to. Some will be international, some will be US and Canada, some will be US only. Part of this is because some of the items will be shipped directly to you from the company and some places have shipping restrictions beyond my control.
And one more thing. If you are new to my blog, and you are a parent (or know someone who is a parent) make sure you check out Pediacast. It’s a pediatric podcast for parents that discusses topics about children’s health issues. You can even call or write in questions you have! So, please, check it out.

So let’s get to it. This prize will be open to everyone no matter where you live!
First up for grabs…….
One dozen of my homemade cloth wipes. I use them for everything as you can see in this post. I made some for Awesome Mom to use as diaper wipes (to go along with her cloth diapering) and she got really creative with them. I made some for Parker to use for his lil’ baby needs. And now I’ve made some for you! I’m sure you can come up with many uses for these wipes! And the best part? They are environmentally friendly! Use them instead of something disposable, throw them in the wash, and then use them again. And again. And again!
They are made of 100% cotton flannel and are super duper soft. They are about 6 inches by 6 inches give or take (I’m too ADD to measure precisely every.single.time!) They have finished edges and are machine washable and safe in the dryer.
You’ll get 6 purple and six yellow wipes (even though only 3 of each are shown!)

Maybe you’re well on your way to being green, maybe this would be a first step for you. Either way, I’m excited to play a part in that!
To enter, leave a comment.
Make sure your email is correct or I’ll have no way to contact you.
I never like comments that just say “Pick me” or “I’d love them” so to be eligible, please include the one item in your house that you absolutely, positively hate to clean!
And please enter only once.
And please, don’t forget to check out my other contest RIGHT HERE. There will be up to $150 up for grabs!

Whoops, didn’t see the extra question the first time through - sorry!
I’d have to say the litterbox, which is one reason why I don’t clean it - that was one thing I made Ron agree to when we got our first cat!

I don’t clean bathrooms. I’m not the one with the aiming problem, therefore I’m not cleaning them. Tom and the boys play “Dirty Jobs” and do it every weekend or so. Anything else that I hate cleaning? Hmmm…I don’t iron. Oh, and I hate to vacuum. Other than all that, my house is clean.

We love cloth wipes and use them for everything! My favorite use is “making babies” out of them. You roll them up just so and you have twin babies that will buy you about 1 minute of quiet time until you have to roll them up again.

I would absolutely love to win these. I’m a momma of three and they can make some BIG messes, add in a part-time husband and 4 lb puppy and it gets worse. The thing I hate to clean the most…little guys high chair after any kind of food, and the counters after hubby has made a pot of coffee. This would be so much “greener” than paper towels!!

The one thing I hate to clean is the refrigerator. I greatly dislike having to empty it out, remove all of the shelves, wash and dry them all, try to reinsert them in the right positions, and then wipe all of the containers off and put them back in as well. Don’t even get me started on the freezer side!
Thanks for hosting a great giveaway. I would love to win these cloths. I have some white terry cloth ones I am using right now, but they are getting threadbare.

Wonderful wipes. What do I hate cleaning? Where should I begin?! The fish tank is close to the top of the list. All that icky-ness that builds up in the filter … yuck. But I think the main thing that I hate to clean, even though a wipe/cleaning cloth is not needed for it is the patio at our apartment. People from up above us are STILL throwing their cigarette butts down and if we want a neat patio then WE have to clean them up. And for a non-smoker it’s SUPER frusterating! And then of course the usual bathroom toilet and now that I am able to clean the litter box again since I’ve had the baby. The cleaning never ends!

Oh, I love cloth wipes! I’d put these to good use - I’ve been wanting to make some to keep in my kitchen (to wipe toddler hands/faces after messy meals!) and these would be perfect!
Let’s see, what do I hate to clean? Almost everything on this list of comments, LOL!!! But topping my list is the toilets and the litterboxes. The funny thing is, I don’t mind taking care of cloth diapers, but all the OTHER things involving poop just freak me out. Too germy!!! *shudder* LOL!

Okay,
Dishes…
Bathroom…though I don’t think I would use them IN the toilet because then you have to set them somewhere until wash time.
Dusting
Cleaning off the washer and dryer
Couldn’t find the wipes yesterday when I had Corbin so had to use a wash cloth..same thing as above. And not litter boxes, ugh!!
(Do I put the dirty in a bag until wash day?)
Windows/dog nose prints
Do you carry a “hold all bag”? For all dirty wipes to wait for wash day?

One thing I totally totally hate cleaning in the house is GROUT. 30+ year old apartment building shower grout. I’ve never succeeded in getting it to look decent. If I ever build a home of my own, I’m not sure I’ll be able to convince myself to do a nice tile shower, after dealing with apartment grout for so many years.

There used to be a great tool that got right in there for you and did a great job but the inserts for it disappeared off the market. I wrote to the manufactureres and their answer was it wasn’t finacially viable to them to continue with them.

The thing I most dislike to clean would have to be the fridge. there’s always things left over from who knows when and I have to face the fact that we , once again, did not eat the left overs that were put in there with good intentions.
Believe it or not, I would use these for my 3 year old to chew on at bedtime. He always needs someting to chew on and has destroyed a million stuffed animals and blankets. these look soft enough to satisfy him, but enough that I can rotate them.

Awesome giveaway! I use wipes for everything - diapering, washing little hands and faces, in place of TP, for cleaning and spills and noses - everything! In terms of cleaning it would have to be a toss up between the shower and the basement. The shower alwyas seems so time consuming and the basement is rather overwhelming!

I hate to clean the toilet. There is stuff that goes on in there that needs to just clean itself. Oh, and as a bonus, I don’t care cleaning up after a stomach flu outbreak. That is just yucky!
Thanks for such neat wipes!

I can’t stand cleaning the baby’s high chair. How in the world can it get so dirty so quickly? It seems like I can never keep it clean. OK, my ranting is over. That is all.:0) What a fantastic giveaway, thank you for your generosity.

What darling wipes! Love them! The thing I hate to clean? Hmm. I’ll have to say my bathroom floor. It’s part plywood, part linoleum, and it’s impossible to make it look nice.

oh i love cloth wipes, and we never seem to have enough.
what do i hate to do? um - i have this weird love/hate relationship with cleaning. i hate to START cleaning but once i’m doing it, i love it. i used to think i hated cleaning windows, i just hate the thought of cleaning windows - while i’m doing it, i’m thrilled with the results. same with scrubbing floors.
i suppose toilets would be my worst - i like seeing them all sparkly, but they are gross to clean.

Hi!
I hate washing dishes. With a passion…DH jokes that before we got our dishwasher (about 6 months time) I only did dishes twice. Its probably true. I can’t stand doing dishes for anything. When he’s at work, I’d rather not eat dinner than dirty dishes that I’d then have to wash!
Anyway, I cloth diaper my niece & my dog (and my future children–but I am in the process of being diagnosed with PCOS so no baby any time soon for me), so these wipes would be used on baby’s bum for a while & then for tissues & family cloth.

The litter box hands down. I always wrangle someone else into doing it when I can. But now I’ve found litter made from grain, so I can flush it. (or if I get really creative throw it in with my flowers this summer)
I would give these lovely clothes to my 5 month old niece. My sister is making her own diaper wipes because baby’s bum is so sensitive.
