THE CAT MUST EARN HIS KEEP

Well, as you know, I’m back. Whether or not I’m happy about it is yet to be determined. Yesterday I had the option of going outside and feeling the heat from the sun warm my Ohio bones. Today, we’re back to jeans and sweatshirts. Right now it is 49 degrees with winds gusting to 22 mph. That gives us a wind chill of 43. Our forecast for the day is a nippy 58 degrees with showers.
Orlando, on the other hand, is 73 right now. No wind chill. And a forecasted high of 85. (sigh)
And to add insult to injury, I have to cook (gasp) and clean (gasp) and teach school (gasp).
But at least someone will be happy today. Because Mowana has picked a winner in my March of Dimes contest! After some last minute contributions, you all helped to raise $190 towards Cathy’s fundraising goal! Special thanks to Sue, Tammy, Dawn, Mary, Mom, Dad, Jenny, Sandi, and Amy for your generous contributions!
I decided to make Mowana earn his keep. I wrote all of your names on slips of paper and folded them up equally. I put them in one of my cute little Ikea bowls and mixed them well. Then I threw them up into the air and let Mo pick the winner!
And the first paper his nose touched said “Sue!”
So congratulations, Sue!!!! I’ll be emailing you soon!

The weather here isn’t all that bad (of course I can say that because I didn’t leave to nicer weather). But it would be nice if it were less gloomy!!

I found your blog through Melanie’s blog. I live in Santa Barbara. We woke up this morning to our heater shooting and it was misting outside. Misting in the middle of July. My daughter said “mom something’s wrong huh?” LOL…yep heat and mist in mid May….something is definately wrong. I’d suggest we protest for sunshine, but who knows she might just take me seriously. Nice blog

Could you have your cat teach mine how to be useful? My cat just wakes us up in the middle of the night. We think she’s getting senile.
