SADLY, THIS IS THE KIND OF THING I DO
Posted by Karen on May 15 2008
Remember before I left for vacation? I was busy trying to fit school in, pack luggage, and clean the house. I also had to shuttle the kids around to their activities. One of those activities was a Whole Foods cooking class just two days before we left. Well, because we were leaving, I didn’t want to hang around Whole Foods or I’d be tempted to buy things that would go bad while we were gone. So instead I headed to Jo-Ann Fabrics to look around.
While there, I found out their rotary cutters and mats were all on sale for 50% off! I’ve been wanting a set for awhile, and the prices were good, so I bought one. My intention was to give it to Mike so he (or the kids) could give it back to me for Mother’s Day. Great plan….they don’t have to shop….I get what I want….perfect!
Until I cleaned up the house to get ready for vacation. And I put said rotary cutter and mat set somewhere safe.
If you were me, where would you have stashed it?
Because for the life of me, I couldn’t remember where I put it. On and off yesterday I scoured the house. I searched high and low. I finally went on an all out hunt for it. About an hour later I finally found it. On top of the entertainment center. Which, really, makes no sense at all.

Sound a lot like me. I’m still searching for my CD case that I misplaced around a week ago.

LOL! I remember many a June or July when going through closets that I found books and a few other things that had been meant for Christmas gifts for the kids! Oh, well, “Christmas in July” I guess. They all seemed to like getting an unexpected gift in the early summer!
Glad you finally found your items. Now you get to have Mother’s Day again!!

Ha!! I always do that! I have tons of stuff on top of our Entertainment Center. I can’t even get up there right now. It will be a surprise when we move!

LOL, I do that too. I got so bad about where I stashed birthday gifts for the girls over the winter that I ended up finding things for both Becca and Abby afterward that I’d bought weeks or months earlier and completely forgot about. On the other hand - they were quite happy about it. There’s nothing like them benefiting from the “oh here’s a present for no reason, because it doesn’t make sense to let this toy/book/outfit sit around for months until Christmas” thing.

I’ve long said that I need to have a “safe place” cabinet. You know, to stash the things that need to be in a safe place. And it’s always the same place, then I wouldn’t lose the darned stuff. ; )
