AND I THOUGHT I KNEW WHO I WAS
Posted by Karen on May 22 2008
I was over at Jen’s place (that’s Jen, not Jenn!) and saw her post about what her name means.
As I mentioned yesterday, I’m out of deep-thinking content for you. Because you know my blog has always been on the cutting edge of “deep thinking!” So I thought I’d go ahead and find out what my name meant.
I was totally dumfounded by what my results were. I mean, so much so that I am thinking of legally changing my name!
Here’s my results (with my comments in bold)

What Karen Means |
![]() You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life. I’ve especially learned not to believe personality tests like this You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don’t spill secrets or spread gossip. Only because my memory is so bad I truly can’t remember who is messing around with whom and who was arrested for what! People sometimes think you’re snobby or aloof, but you’re just too deep in thought to pay attention to them. Seriously, if anyone even suspects I’m deep in thought, I actually might be dead. Start CPR! You are usually the best at everything … you strive for perfection. HA HA HA HA. Mom, would you like to comment on this one? You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. Uh. No. Wrong again. You have the classic “Type A” personality. Yeah, if “Type A” means kicking back, relaxing, going with the flow, and being flexible. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You’re always up to something. Rebel? Uh. Nope. Not me. You have a ton of energy, and most people can’t handle you. You’re very intense. A ton of energy? No, I think I lost that when I had kids. If I have so much energy, how come my laundry is never done? You definitely are a handful, and you’re likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. I’m a smart-alek. And that can get me into trouble. I do laugh a lot. Usually at myself. Or people like you! HA! You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. I am friendly. I’ll give them that much. And I do get along with almost everyone. Except those people that I don’t get along with. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. No, I’m not dead, or deep in thought. I actually laughed so hard at this one, I passed out! I’m better now, but the boat is still rocking! At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. TOTALLY agree! And if I don’t pull it together for the important things, then it all goes back to me not being a Type A personality. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. All I understand is that I really don’t understand the world much at all. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. I do this. Especially if there is a what-if in my life. I tend to think the worst. Mike is 15 minutes late? It must be because he wrapped the car around a pole and is dead. Although I am getting better about not assuming things like this. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. DING DING DING! We have a winner! Yeah, this is me. Heavier on the paranoia than the jealousy. Much heavier. And, by the way, I know you were all snickering about me behind my back! |
So, go ahead. Click the link and see what your name means. Or doesn’t mean.

I’m hurt my name doesn’t have nearly as much meaning as your does. For the most part, pretty straight on. Not to sure about ruling the world though? Thanks for the laugh this morning.

I respectfully disagree. After all who was the one that ordered creme brulee while in Parrot Cay? After sneaking off to make sure it was on the Lumiere’s menu for that night?
Who was it that got Palo souffle delivered to the main dining room?
You, my dear, are a rebel! At least when it comes to DCL!

Hmm, mine is full of contradictions. It says, “You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.” Yep, true. But then down further it says, “Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing”. Hmmm.
Or this one - it says, “You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.”. Also true. But then this? “You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You’re always up to something”. Are they really talking about the same person? LOL

I tend to imagine things too - ie. if Libby’s outside playing alone, I can totally see someone coming and taking her away, or just around the corner… it’s not a fun thing to live with.
I like that you are not snobby … or are you saying that you’re not lost in thought, you ARE snobby? lol

Such a typical psychic, BS, kind of reading! Full of contradictions too. You’re full of energy and easy going? Confident and Jealous?
I wonder what your profile would have been, if your parents had decided to call you Sylvia instead of Karen at the last minute!

I am the total package, man…(of course, sylvia’s names means the same thing…suave, smart, sexy and strong…
Me and Sylvia resist the urges to crush the weak…
Things always seem to go our way. I don’t worry and Sylvia is hyper…she needs to chill and sometimes I’m greedy? What?
Susan is a greek form of the Hebrew name (Shoshannah) or Susanna(h)meaning “lily” and also “rose” In the New Testament this is the name of a woman who ministered to Christ. Also in the Old Testament as the name of a woman falsely accused of adultery. ……wow!!!

Ok, this thing is SO untrue. There is a set paragraph for each letter of the alphabet.
For example, if your name has a K in it, you will always have the, “You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life. You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don’t spill secrets or spread gossip.
Or if you have a Z in your name you will always get the, “You are incredibly wise and perceptive. You have a lot of life experience.
You are a natural peacemaker, and you are especially good at helping others get along.
But keeping the peace in your own life is not easy. You see things very differently, and it’s hard to get you to budge.”
That is why people with longer names have a longer list then people with short names. Go ahead, try it out. Type in two different names that share the first same letter, and notice how the first paragraph is the same.
If you want to see all the possibilities just type out the alphabet!
Is she smart or what?????

Even though it is a total random crock, it’s interesting how accurate mine was! (except for the ‘you know what you want and you’ll step on anyone to get it’ phrase. Or something like that. I’m SO not that driven!!)

Ok I am definitely impressed by KT!
I am glad to know that I’m not the only one who thinks the worst… Andy went out to a movie last night, and I was pretty sure he was going to do that phone pole thing, and at the same time I was worrying that the house was going to burn down.
do you think we need therapy???

KT, is right. I noticed this yesterday with my given name (Rachel - NO one calls me this) and what everyone calls me, Rae. First two paragraphs exactly the same, then not much else for the second option and a looooong list for Rachel.
But it’s funny anyway how some of it does apply.
