FOUR MORE AREAS BITE THE DUST
Posted by Karen on Jun 05 2008
I’m on a roll now. Four more areas have met with my intense decluttering drive. First is my desk. It has never been really messy since I won the tidy desk competition way back when, but things were starting to accumulate and I needed to go through some old junk. Mission accomplished.

Another area that didn’t stand a chance was one of our front closets. The one front closet was transformed into the school closet several years ago and it’s been a life saver to have storage for all of the homeschool supplies. The other front closet was the place for everything else–including snow pants the kids outgrew. Four years ago. But now, it looks like this…..

And actually, it looks BETTER than this because I took this picture before Mike came home and weaned out a couple of things. Again, I don’t have a before picture, but suffice it to say you couldn’t see the orange shag carpet before I started!
I also cleaned out one of my lower cabinets and reorganized it and emptied out the drawer under my stove, washed it out, and only replaced the things I’ve actually used in the last few years. In fact, there were things in there I forgot I owned!
And on that note I have to put aside my obsessive-compulsive decluttering. I’m heading to North Carolina with the kids and my parents first thing tomorrow morning. And I haven’t started packing. Or getting ready in any way. My nephew’s graduation party is Saturday so we’re heading down for that. Luckily, I don’t need to attend the actual ceremony!
I also need to put aside my blogging until I get back. I’m sure I could write some posts and set them to auto-post, but that would mean I wouldn’t have time to pack. Hmmmm, entertain my bloggy friends or have clean underwear every day?

Clean underwear is highly overrated.
Actually, I’m glad - you’re giving me one less blog to have to catch up on lol

I was just outside hanging my laundry on the line, and it’s REALLY hot. You could just skip the underwear entirely.

I had to clear off the top of my sewing machine cabinet yesterday in order to get tp my machine in order to fix Monty’s trousers. I needed to add some reinforcement to the button area on the waistband where the button had pulled a hole in the fabric. I then went over it with the darning stich, a very useful one to have, did a great job too.
I’m intending to do a declutter myself but have no idea where to start as everywhere needs to be decluttered. I think the Salvo’s will do very well out of the whole deal. I need to be quite ruthless as there things in most cupboards, boxes and wardobes that have not seen the light of day in a very long time. However when it comes to the clothes I always think but what if I lose this extra weight then it will fit me again LOL.
There are afew things however that I will try to sell as they are too valuable to just give away, and just think of all the art materials I could get with the $ LOL.
Take Care, I must owe you an e-mail by now. I’m going to go back to work tomorrow (7th June) after being on sick leave now for 2 months, I’ll just take things a day at a time and see what happens.
Lots of Love to you all Carolynn xxxx
