IT ALWAYS LOOKS WORSE….

…..before it looks better, right? Isn’t that what they say? Please tell me that’s what they say! Please! Even if it’s not what they say, lie to me and tell me that’s what they say!!!
Because right now it looks worse. Much worse. Overwhelmingly worse.
Everything has been pulled out of just about every nook and cranny around here. The closets and drawers and cabinets and all the places you don’t see are nice and clean and organized. But where has all the crap gone?
In the garage……

And in our bedroom……

The good news is that tomorrow’s post will be more positive. It’ll be inspiring. It’ll show off my obsessive-compulsive disorder. You know, that disorder I must have just come down with or my house wouldn’t have gotten this bad in the first place!
There is no way in the world I could ever EVER organize this vast amount of stuff for a garage sale. Ever. My nieces are coming down next month and they are going to have a go at my crap priceless valuable possessions. Then I’m thinking of having a “no price” garage sale. Come, search through my junk treasures, and offer me something. Chances are I’d be willing to deal! Does anyone ever do that?
Ok, back to work. See you tomorrow with happier pictures!

That’s a lot of stuff, but I totally understand. I am thinking of just setting all my stuff out and giving it away! It’s easier. Actually the stuff I am going through right now are going to various charitable organizations because I just don’t have the time or energy for a garage sale.
Good luck!
And yes, it does always look worse before it looks better.

By-the-way, I finally got a chance to listen to some podcasts that I have had downloaded forever and I love the Rants and Raves show from May 11!! You and Dr. Mike had me crackin’ up. I love the podcast and you make a great addition to it.
Have you wrapped the cat lately?? LOL

There’s always freecycle. That’s how I get rid of stuff that I still think it’s worthy, but not for me.

AAAAAAH !!!! Do you mean this is what I have to face when I get going on my decluttering.
I hadn’t even thought about where the stuff you don’t want goes to, apart from old clothes and stuff can either be rags or go to The Salvation Army. I guess unused household goods could go to them too. Yes I would probably make a few $ (to go towards more Art stuff) if I had a garage sale but I work Every weekend so where do I store the stuff until I can wangle an ADO keeping in mind of course that there are absolutely NO spare rooms here, the 2 of us take up all the spare space there is.
And YES it does always get worse before it gets better, at least that is the way I understand it and is what I explain to Hubby.
When are you coming over to declutter my place by the way ????
I could find you some floor space to rest your weary head ( I’m serious about only having floor space).
Take Care
Lots of Love Carolynn xxxx

THAT’S what we have to look forward to?! Maybe we should visit a little longer than a weekend!
As far as it getting worse before it gets better … by the look of things it should already get better. How much worse could it get? Maybe I shouldn’t have asked that!

Every time I clean and organize a cluttered space, I get a complete disaster for at least a day. A trip to the attic and a trip to Goodwill later, all is well. Maybe I’ll have to do something about the attic soon, though.
Good luck with the sorting and the yard sale.

Yep, it always looks worse before it looks better. In fact, I think it’s a requirement. At least then you know you’re doing a good job.

You could try the one price sale, like each item 50 cents, that way, you have no tags, and at least you are able to reap some monetary rewards for your ocd, I mean cleaning out! LOL…

Now, realistically, how could it get worse? Wow!! I must say that we have visited many times and your house was always neat and clean!!!!! Where in the world did you have all of this stored??? You must have the “Master Packing Gene” for sure!

It ALWAYS looks worse before it gets better. I’ve been slowly trying to de-junk around here for the last year.
You could have a table where everything is .50. And then a table where things are $2.00, etc.
And just think how good it is going to feel to have everything done!

Wow! You have been working hard! I would do the everything one price or set table prices… Where I live people will not offer $ for things not priced. They don’t dare want to insult someone and they hate to bargain. The highchair I just got for Adeline is a $199 one that I offered $5 to a lady having a offer what you want sale. I would have gladly paid more, but I started off low. She had it for two days at her sale before I bought it, same chair that would sell in 5 min if priced…. Strange. People are strange. People don’t like to bargain. Just my 2 cents.
