YA WIN ONE, YA GIVE ONE AWAY

Posted by Karen on Jun 25 2008

I know you all missed me yesterday. I was up to my neck in stuff. Literally.

What I really wanted to be doing was telling you all I WON! Yup, Christy at After a Cup of Coffee….or Two held a contest for “One Cool Post.” Basically all I had to do was link to what I thought was my coolest post ever. So I linked to Doctor, Heal Thyself.

Sadly, the winner was not chosen based on writing skill or content of the post. It was all random. But it doesn’t matter, it’s a win!

The prize was a $15 Cold Stone Creamery gift card (or other restaurant gift card of my choosing).

My parents would be proud. I requested a Longhorn gift card. Beef, it’s what’s for dinner.

So, now I’m ready to pass on the winning feeling to one of you. But it has to be someone far away. Or in Canada.

That’s right! This giveaway is for my international readers only.

Mickeybag

Up for grabs is one reusable shopping bag! Straight from Walt Disney World, this organic cotton tote will help you help the environment. Perfect for a trip to the beach or your local farmer’s market. You’ll feel good knowing that Mickey Mouse is right there with you saving the Earth.

Yeah, I know, cheesy, eh? Get it? Mickey Mouse. Cheesy. Oh, nevermind.

And, because I have about 150 cloth wipes piled up on my table, I’ll toss in a few of those too.

Anyway, what are the rules?

You have to be a Pediascribe reader and commenter. You needed to have commented at least two times on my blog before this post.
You need to comment on this post and, because I like to get to know you better, tell me the one place you’d visit if you came to the states and why.
And then just sit back and wait. And make a list of the things you’ll carry once you win.
One randomly picked person will win the gift pack. And remember, you must be an international Pediascribe reader to be eligible. Living in Ohio and being bilingual doesn’t count. (snicker)
The contest will wrap up Sunday night at 10pm my time. And I’ll announce the winner Monday the 30th.
The winner may need to guide me through any international shipping regulations because I’m a sheltered person and have little experience with that sort of thing.
Good luck!

Say, Karen, nice of you to offer a prize to your readers who live out of the country! I gues I’ll have to pass since I don’t have time to move before the contest closes. But I wish your international readers all “good luck” and enjoyment of the Mickey bag.

    P. S. GREAT GIFT CARD SELECTION!!!!!!

Se trata de un concurso awesome! Realmente espero ganar.

(Hi, I’m KT’s friend. I came back b/c I forgot my backpack at her house. Here is a translation of what she just said.)

This is an awesome contest! I really hope I win. I’m from Mexico but I only speak Spanish. I had my friend read me your post in Spanish, but then she had to leave. If she comes back I’ll have her put a translation at the bottom. If I came to America, the one place I’d defiantly go would be to Ohio State and see the Buckeyes play at the Horseshoe! I’ve heard they are the best team ever! Now to start making my list of things I’d carry. A computer so I can read Pediascribe every second of the day…..

The place I would love to visit would have to be Albercurque in New Mexico so that I could go to the IAPS (International Assosciation of Pastel Societies) Convention and meet all the friends I have made on WetCanvas, if I had the time and the money I’d alo come to Ohio and visit you guys. Mind you I would probably have to win the lottery in order to achieve this.

    Take Care
Lots of Love Carolynn xxx :-)

Oh Cold Stone, how I miss thee. Weight Watchers banned me from thy love. My heart cannot bare such sorrow. Why would that Karen choose Longhorn over thee? The answer to this query, I shall never know. For this Karen’s heart belongs to yee although I cannot have thee until 21 pounds I have dropped.

I know I’m not eligible for this contest, but I’m telling you where I’d like to go anyway. Hee hee hee

I would love to visit Florida for the fourth time, or the fifth, sixth, seventh and so on so forth. I don’t think I need to explain why. Sunshine, beaches, Disney World, and puertorricans everywhere you turn. It’s my home away from home.

Congrats! I love your post - I had to go back and re-read it again just now, because it’s just too darn funny. :)

Wow - awesome job on the Spanish, KT! So far my kids seem to think that since people in Germany speak German and people in France speak French, that people in California must speak Californian. Although, now that I think about it - maybe they’re not all that far off… ;)

Good luck to all of the international folks!

Woo-hoo, the ONE time it pays to be Canadian!!! Oops, did I say that out loud?

Man, I don’t even know where to start with places in the States I’d like to visit…. Old New England in the fall, plantations in the deep south, the old missions in Texas and New Mexico, Vegas, horse country Kentucky, the great parks in Utah, a steamboat cruise down the Mississippi ~ I could go on and on and on!! Oh, and not to mention all the homes of my favourite blog writers!!!

Oh, whoops, you only wanted to know ONE place and why. Dang, I gotta read these rules more carefully.

Okay, if I had to pick just one of the above-mentioned places/things, I’d have to say the steamboat cruise down the Mississippi. Does that count? I just love the history and the nostalgia and those Spanish moss-covered trees…. Yup, that’d be my top choice.

I feel like I shouldn’t be eligible because I already won one of your giveaways…but I’ll enter anyway! Because I love the cute Mickey bag and I could definitely use a few more of your fabulous wipes!

If I could only visit one place it would be Nebraska. Not really sure why other than I once started to write a novel based in Nebraska when I was much (much) younger. I guess it seemed romantic to me at the time! LOL And since then I’ve always wanted to visit just to see what it’s really like. Hopefully one day we’ll get to at least drive through Nebraska on our way somewhere more typical…like Florida or California!

I would love to take the kids to Disneyland one day. I went when i was 15 and it was a great day. They would love universal studios too. I guess if it were just me, I would go to Chicago. I have a long lost relative there who I would love to see again.
