QUE SERA SERA

Posted by Karen on Aug 06 2008

I woke up this morning and promised myself that my blog post today would not focus on our house, the house in Florida, or the impending move.

But I’m breaking that promise.

Our dream house is in contract! But alas, we are not listed as the buyers. Apparently someone came in yesterday, spent hours going through the house, and decided to buy it.

Unfortunately I spent way too many hours picturing myself in that house.

So there is a sense of grief.

And, surprisingly, a bit of anger because if only our buyers had given us a decent offer, we would have accepted it and gone into contract on Julio.*

Goodbye, Julio…….

Floridian Copy

I know deep down that it was meant to be this way. I don’t know why, but I know everything will work out.

*Julio was the name we coined to refer to our dream house. That’s a story for another day.

Karen, I’m just praying that not too too long from now, you will be saying from somewhere else in that neighborhood, “Ah - I’m so glad we are here instead of there.” That’s what happened to me, and I’m praying the same for you. ;)

Poo! I understand, I really do. I’ve been there, done that! It is so disappointing.

So….now I’ve got Doris Day singing “Que Sera” in my head. What was the name of that movie?

Sorry to hear that, things happen for a reason. Maybe by the time you have sold yours they will have another one built that you will like better. Best wishes, keep your head up.

Maybe the FL people’s credit will stink and Julio will be “available” again.
    Damn those NJ people!!
Sorry to hear but you WILL make it there. Now I’m crying for you!

    Mary says: Very true. Even though it is hard to understand why things happen the way they do. {{{HUGS}}}

Ok. There’s a reason. You are meant to design and build the home FOR YOU. Not necessarily a builder’s show home, but the one for you. That will still have a guest room (big grin) and a wine pantry. Because if you don’t put those in your new place I’ll never forgive you. ;)

Bummer, but at least now you can get a house that is more to your liking even if it does not have all the fancy pants upgrades.

Aw, nuts. (funny how I have reverted to silly NE Ohio “swear” words again now that I have kids)

The people who bought Julio are jerks, the people who haven’t given us a reasonable offer for our house are jerks. Everybody is a jerk. I really wanted that house, now we have to build one. :(

Sue may not be too far off with that scenario….it could fall through at any minute.

However, even if it does sell, you have tons of options. Don’t get tunnelvision!

That really sucks when potential purchasers play games, and when dream homes get away in the meantime.

I really do think you should set your sights on the custom home. I bet Julio is like that guy you had a crush on in highschool, and then it turned out he was a shmo, and you’re so glad you married the person who turned out to be perfect, even tho you didn’t notice him at first. (Speaking hypothetically, and having no knowledge of whether that reflects your actual personal history!)

Setting goofy similes aside, I’d always go for the house I designed myself over something selected by someone else, if I had the choice.

You’re in my prayers. I know God has something spectacular just waiting for you…maybe this is just a lesson in patience.

Awww, that’s a bummer. But I agree with your theory of things happening for a reason. Everything will fall into place. It looks like a beautiful house though.

Karen, I am so sorry for your disappointment, that really sucks.

I don’t understand why the buyers of your place are dilly dallying so much after all, surely you either want something or you don’t. Mind you, you never know maybe the buyers of Julio’s finance might fall through giving you guys another chance.

Good luck, my thoughts are with you everyday.
Lots of Love Carolynn xxx :-)

Ack! I finally get around to some of my blogs and there is bad news! I am so very very very sorry you lost out on the house.

I know this sounds like a cliché but God does have a plan for you and although might never know why somethings don’t happen the way we want. He is still good.
