No insurance. Don’t get me started.
Everyone cries how expensive insurance is.
Let me tell you. My own sister came into our ER on Chirstmas Eve. She’s from out of town. It turned out to be a scare.
I had no idea how much her four hour visit cost until she called me pissed.
$7,000. Yeah.
With her insurance, she has to pay $1,200. Without. What are we talking about. That just boggles my mind.
I don’t get involved in the business end of things, but now I have to wonder what good we really do and when someone comes in without insurance, I have to rethink my usual mild contempt.
We can afford to treat him. Just look at what we bilked out of my sisiter.
